It's the biggest game in the Bundesliga this Saturday when Borussia Dortmund host champions Bayern Munich at the world famous Westfalenstadion. Both teams sit in the top two places in the German top-tier and this has become one of the most comeptitive games in the country over the past decade. There's no doubt Dortmund have come the closest to usurping Bayern as the powerhouse in Germany, but can they deal some early season damage in the title hunt on Saturday?

Bayern's spot

As usual, Bayern sit atop of the Bundesliga and this time, it's by three clear points. They have won the title for the past five seasons and seven of the last 10 and who won two of the other three? You guessed it, Dortmund. Jupp Heynckes is back in charge now after Carlo Ancelotti was given his marching orders due to a sluggish start to the season that at any other club really wouldn't have been so bad. Bayern have won six games on the bounce since and that includes an impressive victory over fellow title rivals RB Leipzig. Looking at Bayern's squad, there is literally quality at every turn. Going forward, Thomas Muller, Robert Lewandowski, Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben have all stood the test of time at the Allianz Arena, but the likes of Thiago, Arturo Vidal, James Rodriguez and Corentin Tolisso give the side much-needed depth to contend on multiple fronts. Can they open up an early gap over Dortmund?

Dortmund's chance

A win would see Dortmund move level with Bayern at the top of the league, but given their recent form it's hard to know what to expect. A draw with APOEL in the Champions League follows a 4-2 loss to Hannover 96 and they've only won three of their past seven games before that with a loss against RB Leipzig in the mix, too. Still, Dortmund undoubtedly have one of the most exciting frontlines in European football and the vast array of talented youngsters they unearth is quite staggering. Ousmane Dembele left the club in the summer in a big-money deal with Barcelona, but Andriy Yarmolenko was brought in as his replacement in addition to the rises of Jadon Sancho and Christian Pulisic, two teenagers who are raising pulses in the continent. They have the attacking flair to put Bayern in deep trouble.

FREEbets.org.uk Prediction

Dortmund are unbeaten during Bayern's last two visits to the Westfalenstadion, but the two sides are on totally different veins of forms right now. Bayern are playing too well to be dominated in this contest and Dortmund are shipping far too many goals. It's not a good recipe for the home side.

Odds of 9/4 are available with Coral for Bayern Munich to win and both teams to score (£20 free bet)
