The UFC is set to hold its first-ever event in Gdansk, Poland on Saturday night and the headlining fight will see Donald Cerrone take on Darren Till in what is sure to be a welterweight classic. We'll also see local hero Karolina Kowalkiewicz facing Jodie Esquibel in the women's strawweight division. Who will mark the first event with a win?

Cowboy Cerrone

As the vast majority of MMA fans are away, the UFC Fight Night events are usually run in places and countries that have a developing fanbase with the UFC and it tends to feature fighters that are either making their name, or have challenged for a title but never quite made it. Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone is certainly the latter having challenged for the UFC Lightweight Championship now held by Conor McGregor in the past. The 34-year-old is understandably the slight favourite given his experience and he needs a big win if he is to recover from the comprehensive loss he suffered against Robbie Lawler last time out back in July. After winning his first four bouts at welterweight in a row - with two performances of the night to boot - Cerrone now finds himself on a two-fight losing streak. His head kicks could be the difference maker here.

The Gorilla

Till is a 25-year-old from Liverpool, England whom specialises in Muay Thai and is known for his knockout power. The Gorilla, as he is nicknamed, is undefeated in 16 fights with 15 wins and one draw. That draw came at UFC Fight Night 93 back in 2015, and it's the only remote blemish on his 3-1-0 start in the UFC. Still, for someone who has several knockouts on his CV, all of his last three fights have gone the distance since he began fighting at the very top level. After not fighting for all of 2016, Till has returned in 2017 to win two bouts and signed a new five-fight deal in August, something that indicates the UFC's desire put him in the octagon more often and, more than likely, Dana White sees potential in the young man. A win over Cerrone would be a huge statement for the British-born fighter and he would find himself making major moves up the welterweight rankings if he can get the job done. But, Cerrone still considers himself in the title hunt.

The Robbie Lawler fight was more of a back-and-forth affair than the unanimous decision suggested. Cerrone still has plenty to offer, but can the younger and hungry Till cause a bit of an upset? This is his hardest fight yet and Cerrone by decision would make sense here.
