Belarus Premier League Matches

Saturday 4 April: Dinamo Brest v Slavia Mozyr - 5.30pm KO

Dinamo Brest are the defending champions in the Belarus Premier League. The new season has only just begun and after two games, they are in fifth place with four points. Their opening fixture saw them fall behind at newly promoted Smolevichi but ended with a 1-1 draw. Their first win of the season came when winning 1-0 at FC Slutsk. Brest have a strong home record with no defeats in their last nine league games and just one in the last 18. They are unbeaten in their last 22 competitive games and will be confident of getting a second league win.

Slavia Mozyr are 12th in the table, that's two places above the relegation zone. They finished eighth in the league last season but were over 30 points behind Brest. They made a poor start to the new season, losing 3-1 at FC Slutsk despite being ahead in the first half. Their second league game of the season produced a much better result though as they came from behind to beat BATE Borisov 2-1 at home with Nikita Meinikov scoring both their goals. Away form is poor though with just two wins in the last ten league games. Brest should be able to make it two wins out of three with a home victory.

BATE Borisov finished second in the Belarus Premier League last season. However, they come into this match in 14th place, having lost both of their opening two games. Both of those defeats came on the road though and they will be glad to be back on home soil. Their season began with a 3-1 loss at Energetik and then a 2-1 loss at Slavia Mozyr despite going one up in the tenth minute. 11 of their last 13 home league games have been won so this will be a tough task for the visitors.

Ruh Brest won promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.  They made a good start to the new season with a 1-0 victory over Dinamo Minsk. They failed to follow up on that though and lost 1-0 at Energetik. This is going to be a tough task for them with BATE desperate to get some points on the board now they are back playing at home. Go for a home victory here and be leading at both half and full time.

Sunday 5 April: Vitebsk v Smolevichi - 2pm KO

Smolevichi won promotion to the Belarus Premier League last season. Two games into the new season and they are 14th (the relegation play-off place) and still looking for their first league win. The fixture computer didn't give them an easy starter as they had to travel to champions Dinamo Brest. Even so, they went 1-0 up early on but ended up having to share the points. Another away game followed losing 1-0 at Isloch Minsk.

Vibetsk survived relegation by a single point last season. They ended the season with four defeats in a row but began the new term well with a 1-0 home win over Gorodeya. It took an own goal to get them the three points though. Their second game saw them lose 2-0 away at Neman Grondo. They are struggling for goals and 10 of their last 11 league games have had under 2.5 goals scored in them. The tip here is for that stat to come up again in this game.

Nicaragua Premier League

Sunday 5 April: Juventus Managua v Diariangen - 1am KO

Juventus Managua are seventh in the table, one place and two points behind the final play-off position. They are in poor form though having lost three of their last four league games. No goals have been scored in the last two and they have conceded 11 goals in their last four league matches. Home form has been good though with three wins in six with only one loss to league leaders Managua. Since that defeat, they have gone five at home without defeat scoring at least three goals on three occasions.

Diriangen are third in the table and only two points off the top of the table. They have already had one win this month beating Walter Ferretti 2-1. It wasnt the easiest of victories though as they went 1-0 down after just four minutes. Diriangen have just one loss in their last 15 league and cup games. That was inflicted on them by top of the table Managua. After winning three away games in a row, they have just one point from their last two. A bet on both teams scoring looks a likely winner here.

The first weekend of April was due to see action at Aintree but not this year. Don't despair though because there is still plenty of horse racing action to follow this weekend and hopefully provide some winners. Lots of action in the USA including Gulfstream and Tampa Bay Downs. Then on Sunday, there's a card at Sha Tin.

Australian Derby

The majority of the action takes place down under with 11 race meetings on Saturday. The highlight of the weekend is the Australian Derby that takes place at 5.55am on Saturday April 4 at the Randwick course in Sydney. Favourite to win the race is Castelvecchio who won the Rosehill Guineas recently. He's expected to show more improvement over the 2400m distance.
