Why Spreadex?

Spreadex has been trading since 2000, and has fast become the home of both serious and casual punters, who enjoying betting on a range of sports, in a number of different ways. The site offers a unique service that allows both spread betting and fixed odds betting from one account, so all punters win!.

The most popular form of betting is 'fixed odds betting', placing a wager on specified odds, just like you would with 'traditional' bookmakers online or on the high-street. However, with Spreadex, you get better value on more markets, on more sports, which means more winnings for you.

What to use your Spreadex Free Bet On?

Sports betting fans can indulge in markets ranging from Football, Horse Racing and Cricket, to Darts, Boxing, Golf and Rugby. Bettors can also enjoy placing wagers on a number of markets that other 'traditional' bookmakers don't offer, ranging from novelty and special bets, to betting on the latest Political and financial events.

Spreadex don't only excel in offering markets on all major and minor sporting events across the world, but have in-depth betting possibilities in each. For example, a domestic football match can have hundreds of individual fixed odds and spread betting markets relating to it, from the outright winner market, to betting on which team will have the first corner.

What is Spread Betting?

Spreadex as the name suggests is a spread betting bookmaker that allows customers to buy or sell betting options. Spread betting firms differ to traditional bookmakers who issue prices or odds on something to happen. With spread betting the more right you are the more you win and the more wrong you are the more you lose.

For any event two numbers are quoted which equates to the spread. If you think the actual number (make-up) will be higher then the spread you buy and if you think it will be lower you sell. Bets are settled on the difference between the make-up and the number at which you bought or sold. The profit or loss is based on the stake and this difference.

Spread markets are quoted with two numbers and the difference between these numbers is the spread firm’s profit margin. A simple example is the projected number of goals in a football match. So, for example the total goals in a football match typically will be expressed in the following way:

If you think there will be more than 2.6 goals you buy or go high at 2.6. If you think there will be less than 2.4 goals you sell at 2.4. Let’s assume a stake unit of £100 so there are four possible scenarios:

Buy at 2.6 Total Goals 3: PROFIT = 3 -2.6 (0.4) x £100 = £40.

Buy at 2.6 Total Goals 2: LOSS = 2.6 -2 (0.6) x £100 = £60.

Sell at 2.4 Total Goals 2: PROFIT = 2.4 -2 (0.4) x £100 = £40.

Sell at 2.4 Total Goals 3: LOSS = 3 -2.4 (0.6) x £100 = £60

The greater the difference between the number at which bets are placed and the make-up the greater the profit or loss. The potential profit or loss is not restricted to the stake. Customers must have enough betting funds in an account to cover the maximum potential loss. Therefore, caution is recommended but stop losses can be placed on a bet to limit the profit or loss. However, credit betting is allowed.
