MLS Free Bets For New Customers
Now you may not consider the USA to be a hot-bed of football betting action, but with growing exposure of Major League Soccer (MLS) in the UK there are plenty of betting opportunities to be had. For a long time it has been derided as a sub standard league, where Americans scandalously refer to the beautiful game as soccer! However attitudes have slowly but surely started to turn around with the standard of football improving year on year. The impact of the likes of David Beckham (soon to have his own MLS club) and Wayne Rooney has increased the league's profile. Bookmakers now offer odds on all the games played in this league.
With the MLS league season continuing right through the summer months when the European leagues have ended, it provides a much needed compliment of fixtures at a time of more limited action. Here at FREEbets.org.uk we give you all the vital information about claiming your MLS free bets.

The new season gets underway on 29 February and will run until October.
2020 MLS sees the arrival of two expansion clubs, Inter Miami CF and Nashville SC, with the former sliding into the Eastern Conference and the latter into the Western Conference.
There is much excitement about the addition of Inter Miami as their co-owner and president is a certain David Beckham.
The Manchester United and Real Madrid legend is yet to attract the huge names he was exepcted to into the playing squad, but that is likely to change as the new season approaches.
Uruguayan coach Diego Alonso will manage the side, while they continue to be linked with superstars such as Gareth Bale, David Silva and Edinson Cavani. However, their biggest signings remain the likes of Matias Pellegrini and Victor Ulloa, although they have picked up exciting talent Robbie Robinson as first pick in the MLS SuperDraft.
Thierry Henry arrives as a manager in MLS, taking charge of Montreal Impact, while former Celtic boss Ronny Deila is the new manager of New York City FC and Raphael Wicky is the new boss of Chicago Fire.

2019 MLS Season
MLS competition format
The league is made up of 22 teams from the USA and Canada with the regular season running from March to 6 October. The league is divided in to Eastern and Western conferences, as is common place amongst American sports with each team playing 34 games.
These comprise of 23 matches against sides from within their own conference as well as 11 from the other. The team with the highest points total at the end is awarded the Supporters Shield but the real prize is the MLS Cup. The top seven sides from each conference go through to the play-offs where they compete for a place in the MLS Cup final.

It was a real tussle at the top of the Eastern Conference for much of the regular season, but New York City FC eventually got away from Atlanta United and Philadelphia Union to top the standings.
The other four play-off spots were taken by Toronto FC, DC United, New York Red Bulls and New England Revolution.
Marooned at the bottom of the Conference are FC Cincinatti who had a season to forget, winning just six games.
Western Conference MLS League

Los Angeles FC claimed the Supporters' Shield this year having totally dominated the Western Conference over the campaign. Carlos Vela finished top scorer in the MLS this season and has been a potent force for the leaders, as has Diego Rossi who has chipped in more than his fair share too.
Behind LA FC the Western Conference was extremely tight, with almost all the other teams holding realistic hopes of making the Conference quarter-finals for much of the regular season. Seattle Sounders finished second, with Real Salt Lake, Minnesota United, LA Galaxy, Portland Timbers and FC Dallas grabbing the play-off spots.
Vancouver White Caps propped up the Western Conference due to their distinct lack of goals, netting just 37 times in 34 games.
MLS Top Scorers
- Carlos Vela (Los Angeles FC) 34
- Zlatan Ibrahimović (LA Galaxy) 30
- Josef Martínez (Atlanta United FC) 27
- Diego Rossi (Los Angeles FC) 16
The Play-offs are slightly complicated as teams finished 2-7 meet in a seeded first round, with the table-toppers getting a bye to the semi-finals.
In the Eastern Conference, the big shock was Toronto FC beating New York City FC in the semi-finals to set up a Conference Final against Atlanta United, who comfortably came through against New England Revolution and Philadelphia Union without conceding a goal.
The Western Conference went as could be expected as far as the Conference Final, with Los Angeles FC and Seattle Sounders, the top two teams in the conference, progressing to the final.
However, the conference finals then threw up a couple of shocks, most notably as Los Angeles FC were beaten by Seattle despite dominating the entire season, losing 3-1. The Eastern Conference saw Toronto FC beat Atlanta 2-1 to set-up an unlikely final, although a repeat of the final from two years ago.
Seattle went on to win the MLS Final 3-1 in an unusual game which saw Toronto enjoy 65% possession but could not make it pay. Goals from Kelvin Leerdan, Victor Rodriguez and Manuel Ruidiaz were enough to give the Sounders the victory with just a late consolation from Jozy Altidore for the Canadians.
The victory gave the Sounders their second MLS Cup after first winning it in 2016, with Rodriguez named the MLS Cup MVP.
The 2020 MLS season will begin on 29 February.

For example the MLS is one of the few football leagues in the world that does not operate a promotion or relegation structure. Therefore the usually popular relegation market is unavailable and betting largely revolves around the winner of the MLS Cup and Supporters Shield and also the individual match markets.

Betting on the MLS
Atlanta United won their first ever MLS Cup in 2018, just four years after being formed. A 2-0 victory over Portland Timbers in the final handed them the title on 8 December in front of 73,000 people at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta and they are now a force to be reckoned with in the US. They join San Jose Earthquakes as the only sides to have 100% records in MLS Cup finals.
2018 MLS season
New York Red Bulls claimed the Supporters Shield in 2018, picking up 71 points from their 34 games in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta United came second in the overall table, but obviously went on to do enough to win the MLS Cup.
Josef Martinez was the top scorer in the regular season, banging in 31 goals for Atlanta, then four more in the play-offs including the opener in the final. It was an incredible year for the Venezuelan who may again attract interest from European clubs having played previously for Young Boys and Torino.
