The final four in this season's Champions League will be confirmed this week. Our preview looks ahead to the four quarter final second leg ties as Manchester City try to overturn a 3-0 deficit against Liverpool.

Manchester City v Liverpool - Tuesday April 10 7.45pm

The past week or so hasn't quite gone to plan for Manchester City. Get a good result at Anfield and then win England's top league on Saturday was the aim but it all went wrong. First they lost 3-0 at Liverpool in the first leg of this tie and then they gave away a two-goal lead and lost 3-2 at home to Manchester United.  That's six goals conceded in two games and that leaking defence can't afford to be doing that in this second leg. Just one Liverpool goal will leave City needing to score five goals in 90 minutes. Ok they put five past Liverpool at home earlier in the season, but Liverpool were down to ten men in that game and their defence is a lot better these days.

City have to go on the attack in this game and that will please Liverpool as the counter-attacks may well provide dividends for them. Liverpool will be hoping to have Mo Salah back for this game after missing out on the 0-0 draw at Everton on Saturday. That defence is a lot stronger with five clean sheets in their last seven games and four in the last six on the road  With a habit of scoring with only two of their last 19 away matches seeing them fail to get on the scoresheet, then they should be able to win this tie in a game that should have more than 2.5 goals scored in it.

Roma v Barcelona - Tuesday 10 April 7.45pm

If you want to win any game, the idea is not to score two own goals, least of all in a Champions League away quarter final at Barcelona. That's just what Roma did last week and after a 4-1 loss they face a massive task getting back into this tie even with an away goal. Roma lost again at the weekend and face a struggle to be in the Champions League next season. They have only won three of their last nine home matches and they just don't look like a side that can beat Barcelona let alone score plenty of goals against them.

Barcelona still haven't lost a La Liga or Champions League game this season and although they have a great attack, their defence is doing pretty good too. That's why four Barcelona away games in this competition this season has only seen two goals scored. Roma have to attack them and that's going to play into Barcelona's hands right from the start and as the gaps appear, Barcelona can take advantage and win this match.

Bayern Munich v Sevilla - Wednesday 11 April 7.45pm

This is the closest of the four quarter final ties but unlikely to stay that way for long. Munich are in great form, especially at home and they already lead 2-1 from the first leg in Spain. Bayern have scored 12 goals in their last three wins and have lost only one of their last 24 games in all competitions, a loss away at Leipzig in the German league. Already this season they have beaten PSG at home and they have only lost one Champions League home game since 2014 and that was to Real Madrid.

Sevilla have done well this season considering their defensive problems. A 4-0 loss to Celta Vigo at the weekend took them to 50 goals conceded in the Spanish league this season and there have been a fair few let in playing in this competition too. They have gone four games without a win and have won just three of their last 15 away games in the Champions League. This looks a task that is well beyond them and once this game is over, they will spend the rest of the season battling to get a place in European competition next season.

Current odds for Bayern Munich to beat Sevilla with over 2.5 goals in the game are 8/15 1-1 with Coral (18+ Ts & Cs Apply)

Real Madrid v Juventus - Wednesday 11 April 7.45pm

eal Madrid lead 3-0 from the first leg and with a home game to come it looks like misson impossible for the Italian league side if they want to reach the last four of the Champions League. Real are in form at just the right time and it's mainly down to Cristiano Ronaldo who has an incredible 20 goals in his last ten Madrid games. While his side wish he'd been in that form earlier in the season, they have a great chance of winning Europe's top club competition for the third year in a row.

Madrid are unbeaten in their last six games and have just one loss in the last 18. Not since 2015 have they lost a home Champions League game but there's a word of caution to be had from that loss. They were defeated by German league side Schalke 04 in a game where Madrid had a massive lead from the first leg and took them foot off the gas.

Juventus had a win in Serie A at the weekend but have an almost impossible task here. They have conceded seven goals in their last two games against Madrid and it just doesn't seem possible for them to claw their way back into this tie. Already this season they have lost 3-0 at Barcelona in this competition and another defeat looks likely here as they try to come forward and inevitably leave gaps at the back.
