Just one month ago, Newcastle looked like they were having a tremendous debut season back in the Premier League. Now, they have only one point from their last six games and Rafa Benitez, along with the entirety of Tyneside, are begging for the big-money takeover and some more players in January. Leicester, conversely, have quietly pushed themselves into the top half of the table and there is no reason they can chase down Watford and Burnley who sit above them in the table. Can Newcastle stop the rot or will St James' Park witness another disappointing afternoon?

Rafa's trouble

As many pundits have already noted, none more so than Alan Shearer, Newcastle didn't make the signings they needed to in the summer. They shopped around for bargains and little-known players like Florian Lejeune and Joselu were brought in and that's not the radical turnaround that the former Liverpool boss and Champions League winner had in mind. Mike Ashley is looking to sell and that's what will be keeping Benitez sane right now, but that won't help him beat Leicester at the weekend. The Magpies have been painfully bereft of goals with Joselu leading the line and they've scored six goals less than Leicester this term, less than one goal per game. One thing Benitez is good at is organising his side, but what they need now more than ever is some creativity and ruthlessness in front of goal.

Fighting Foxes

Leicester have five wins, five draws and five losses this season. They have scored 20 goals and they've also conceded 20. That is literally the definition a middle of the road, average season. And yet, they sit in ninth place, moving along nicely. Their only loss in their last six games came against runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City and their last two wins have come against sides above them in the table - Tottenham and Burnley. Still, they haven't won away from home in their last three games and that gives Newcastle hope that they can take control of the game on Saturday. Leicester work best when Harry Maguire can work the ball out from the back and Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy have been back to their influential best lately. Their problem is, they play their best stuff on the counter-attack - will Newcastle dictate the game?

Betfair are offering odds of 9/5 for Leicester to win (£100 free bet) Prediction

Newcastle need to get back on track and in front of their home fans they have to deliver a performance. The Foxes are more dangerous than Newcastle and with the Magpies pushing for the win they desperately need, Leicester can exploit the spaces they need to get the win.

Odds of 9/2 are available with Betfair for Leicester to win and both teams to score (£100 free bet)
